Elizabeth Muir

Elizabeth received her bachelor’s degree in political science at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. During this time, she gained legal experience interning for a criminal defense law firm, and later as a legal assistant for a firm specializing in transactional law. Elizabeth went on to receive her Juris Doctor from John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) where she focused on family law and mediation. She worked as a law clerk at one of the largest family law firms in Chicago, gaining extensive experience dealing with well-known and high net worth clients such as sports figures, celebrities and other professionals. Before returning to family law, Elizabeth spent 6 years working in contract law for various Fortune 500 Companies, managing a team of attorneys across 3 countries focused on unique M&A / change of control issues.
Elizabeth has been a certified divorce mediator through Northwestern University since 2017. She previously served as a volunteer mediator across Cook County courts through the Center for Conflict Resolution (CCR) and presently serves as a court-appointed Child Representative/Guardian ad Litem, pro bono, for Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family, co-parenting her dog Marbles, and going to see live music.
